The Aga range cooker solid fuel barrel isn't available new but we have carefully selected used versions.Usually the donor cooker has been converted to oil or gas and can use a finned hotspot so the solid fuel barrel while still in good condition is redundant. When last made and available from Aga Rangemaster they were £800. These were made of chrome steel that can take the red hot heat. They have a mid way seam which is where they usually crack.
The barrel is the heaviest part of the Aga range cooker (where the kettle boils). The barrel is over 35 kilos in weight and sits into the OUTER barrel by weight alone. No gaskets or sealer used.
It has a 3 inch diameter filling plug in the centre which we supply ( also available separately) that lifts out for tipping the coal in (via a funnel which we also supply separately).
These barrels fit all solid fuel Standard or Deluxe models EXCEPT Agathermic.
No tools needed to fit. Just a strong helper! To fit. Lift out cracked one (it's not bolted or glued in) but note this items weighs 35 kilos and thus should be lifted / lowered into place by 2 strong people who inset one hand each through the filler plug hole.
To decrease wear the barrel should be turned monthly when cleaning flue passages using the barrel turner tool. These are available here.
Supplied ON A PALLET or available for collection. Delivery 4-6 days from ordering.
Occasionally we have SKIMMED INNER BARRELS in stock, with a skimmed plug to match. Very slightly LOWER that the original so ideal if you are rebuilding as you may not need to RAISE the barrel to obtain a flush surface. Ring prior to ordering to check stock or see here.
If your cooker is OIL or GAS converted see the other 2 barrels we sell.
