Aftermarket Mains 240 volt to12 volt AC transformer can be used on oil fired Aga range cookers with an Electric Head. This is a purpose made transformer for automatic, electric head Aga range cookers that converts 240 volt AC mains current to 12 volt AC current.

Fitted with a three pin plug and 1.5 metres of cable to feed to the Tempo mat electric head as fitted on the Aga range cooker OC and OE oil fired models. It will work on earlier electric heads with the bakelite body.

Once again please note these transformers are suitable for the Aga cooker ONLY and is NOT suitable for any Rayburn.

Note this transformer will be damaged should the cables be fitted incorrectly so no returns accepted. It should be wired according to the diagram pasted under the top of the Electric head.

The transformer used is to convert 230/40 volt AC current to 12 volt AC current – not DC!

It plugs into the mains via a built in 2 pin EU plug and 2 pin to UK 3 pin converter. It comes with a 2 wire lead approximately 6ft long to connect to your electric head.

The current is instantly transformed on inserting the plug into the mains socket - no switch is fitted. Instructions are included in 7 languages.

To fit simply cut off the socket plug on the end of the wire and connect the live and neutral wires as shown on the wiring diagram usually on the underside of the electric head cover.

We supply with the plug still attached (or enclosed in the box) as it shows the positive and negative leads - the black/grey lead is the positive, the plain black the negative.

Once connected if your thermostat is turned up the electric head should be energised and the bi-metallic strip start warming up and BEND so that the brass pip that sits on the oil chamber float will rise (as the oil depth increases). The head should get very hot. If it doesn’t work, make sure that the thermostat is passing the 12 volt current to it.
